How do I store my cake balls, cake pops, and cupcakes?
CAKE BALLS/CAKE POPS:We recommend storing our cake balls covered in a cool, dry place. Generally, they can last about 10 days at room temperature, as long as they are not exposed to heat, humidity, or sunlight. They can be refrigerated up to 2 weeks (please note that refrigerating our cake balls may cause condensation on the chocolate and affect the moisture content and appearance of our cake balls). We do not recommend freezing our cake balls. Any cake balls with bacon must be kept refrigerated and consumed within 3 days of purchase. We do not recommend freezing cake balls.
CUPCAKES: Best if enjoyed the day of purchase, or the very next day. We recommend storing in an airtight container. We do not recommend refrigerating our cupcakes! Refrigerating may change the moisture level and consistency of our cupcakes. Keep out of heat, sunlight, and humidity.
FREEZING CUPCAKES: Cupcakes may be frozen on the day of purchase, in an airtight container. When ready to enjoy, remove from freezer and place in a dry container/on a dry surface (remove from container you used to freeze them) at ROOM TEMPERATURE (do not refrigerate) for about 3 hours.
CAKES: Best if enjoyed the day of purchase. DO NOT REFRIGERATE. Keep away from heat, sunlight or humidity. To keep fresh, transfer to air-tight container, or wrap box in plastic wrap.
Please note that we cannot be held responsible for the condition of our product once it leaves our facility, due to the fact that we cannot control the way in which they are stored, or the conditions they are exposed to after they leave our facility. We do not accept any returns on food items, and all sales are final (not to worry, because we know how much you are going to love our treats!).
Are cake balls fully baked?
Yes! The cakes in our cake balls are fully baked prior to being made into cake balls. We achieve the super-moist (and super delicious!) consistency when frosting is added to the cake mixture, achieving a dough-like consistency. Our cake balls are 100% made by hand from start to finish in a 7-step process, the first of which starts with a fully-baked caked.
What size are cake balls?
Our cake balls are approximately 1.5 inches in diameter (about the size of a golf ball). They are just the right size for a satisfying dessert or treat, and they require no utensils to eat them! Cake pops are the same size, only with a stick.
What is the recommended cake ball or cupcake
serving size per person?
We generally recommend 2-3 cake balls, cake pops, mini cupcakes or bit-seized items per person. For regular cupcakes, we generally recommend 1 per guest, with a few extra, just in case. Please take into consideration what other desserts you will be having at your event, as well as your event attendees. Generally, the more flavors and options you have, the more guests want to try. Based on our customer feedback, it seems you can never quite have enough of our tasty little treats, but this amount should be a good guideline for your order.
What time do you sell out of items during the day? Is there a way to still get items if I can't make it to the shop until later?
This is a great question. Since we do make everything fresh each morning at the shop, our goal is to have a good selection of product as long into the day as possible, without having any leftover at the end of the day. Of course, that can be tricky since our customers and demand varies daily. We look carefully at our previous sales history, as well as other events such as holidays, day of the week, and weather when we decide what to make that day. We certainly never want to see anyone leave our shop empty-handed, and without our delicious treats!
We do have a number of systems in place to help you get your treats, no matter what time you arrive!
1) CUPCAKES: Flavors are posted on our Weekly Cupcake Menu early in the week for the entire week.
Flavors listed on our WEEKLY CUPCAKE MENU may be reserved in any quantity for the date needed, provided that we have order openings on that date. If you know you will need menu cupcake flavors for a particular date, you many place an order ahead of time with the quantity needed (it's never too early!), then call or email us to give us the actual flavors once the menu has been posted for the week of your order (you can also just order "assorted" and we'll assort them from our menu on the order date).
Menus are posted between Saturday and Monday night for the following week.
You can also give us a call the morning of the day you need them, or even before you head over to the shop to see what we have left, and we can certainly put anything aside for you from what we have available, especially if you can't make it until later in the day. We understand that sometimes, you just need a cupcake, and your visit might not always be planned. We always say the earlier in the day, the better selection, as there are days we sell out in the early afternoon, and then there are days when we still have a nice variety of cupcakes later in the day. We do remain open after we sell out until our posted closing time. We do take special orders of specific flavors (not on the posted list) and/or special decor in minimum quantities of 1 dozen for any day we are open during the week, with advance notice (subject to order availability for date needed). All holds/reservations are pre-pay only!
2) CAKE BALLS: A variety of flavors are offered daily. You can stop in and select from the flavors in our case (as always, the earlier in the day, the better the selection). You can also give us a call and have us reserve "assorted" flavors for you if you are not particular on flavors for any day (with all "assorted" flavors, we select an assortment based on what we are making for the day you need them). As with our cupcakes, you can order any specific flavors and/or decor in minimum quantities of 1 dozen for pick up any day we are open during the week, with advance notice (subject to availability).
How far in advance should I place my order?
It is never too early to order! Generally, we recommend a MINIMUM of 3-4 business operating days (Tues-Sat) for most orders. All orders are subject to availability-so don't wait! At times, we can make them in less time, and at times, more time is required. Larger orders require a minimum of 1 week notice (subject to availability). All orders are subject to availability based on other orders for your requested date. We do book up for early for spring and summer events, as well as around holidays. In general, we always recommend placing your orders AS SOON AS POSSIBLE to ensure availability for the requested date & time! There are some dates, primarily on weekends, that are booked for several months out, up to 6 months. We do have a display case in our retail store, where we carry between 20 and 30 different flavors of cake balls each day. We recommend arriving early for the best selection. We also have special gift boxes, gift wrapping, and trays available in our store (as well as cards & candles for your convenience). Cake pops, cookies & other sweet treats are generally always a special order item (we do carry them in the store at times, but not on a regular basis). For weddings, large events, or corporate orders, please order as soon as possible. Weddings generally start booking approximately 6 months-1 year out, with June/July/August/September dates in the most demand (these months tend to fill up earlier). We do not accept orders outside of 1 year from the date needed.
Please note that we require a credit card for all orders via phone, email, or in our store, and cards will be charged in full if orders are not picked up by closing time on the order due date. All orders of $50.00 or less require payment in full to confirm the order. For orders over $50, a minimum 50% deposit must be made at time of order placement, and final payment is due at least 2 weeks prior to order due date. If any work is done for any order placed (for example, favor tags, or anything that is customized or special-ordered), your credit card on file will be charged for that amount, even if the order is cancelled. All order deposits and payments are non-refundable. We do not retain any credit card information from our customers and any information obtained is securely shredded and disposed of at the time of order payment & pick up.
Do you make any custom-shaped cake balls or pops?
While we offer many ways to customize our products for your event, we do not currently offer any "shaped" cake balls or pops (other than "Mickey" or "Minnie" designs), or do any work with fondant or modeling chocolate. Our cake balls are made to resemble a decadent chocolate truffle (except filled with cake & frosting!), and we work with only premium chocolate for coatings and decorations. Your cake balls & cake pops can be customized by coloring our chocolate to match your event colors, as well as by adding any number of decorative toppings, such as glitters, sugars, jimmies, etc. Contact us to see how we can customize and personalize our products for your event or occasion!
What if I have food allergies?
All of our products are produced in an environment where the following are present, and may come in contact with your product: Nuts, soy, wheat, dairy, and products containing gluten. If you have a food allergy, we do not recommend consuming our products.
Do you offer any products for special diets?
Currently, we do offer gluten-free & vegan cake balls, cake pops, cupcakes, and cakes in select flavors. These are produced in an environment where there are products containing gluten & dairy, but every effort is made to avoid cross-contamination. If you have a food allergy, we recommend using caution or not consuming our products. Please note that our vegan products do not contain dairy in the ingredients,but there is dairy present in our facility. Our vegan products DO contain soy. Our products are not intended for those with gluten or dairy allergies. We only use 100% organic sugars (non bone-char) in our vegan products. Do you offer delivery and dessert set-up?
We currently offer limited local delivery, subject to availability.
Please give as much notice as possible for deliveries. Local delivery charges apply. We do also offer a variety of displays that are available for rental. Delivery charges are based by zone, originating at our Pearl Rd retail location. Minimum product purchase amounts apply to local deliveries.

Do you have a retail store?
Yes! Our retail store is located at 15131 Pearl Rd., in Strongsville, OH. We are about 2 miles from I-71. Just 20 minutes SW of downtown Cleveland, and only 1.4 miles SW of Southpark Mall. We are located in the same shopping plaza as Big Lots, Plato's Closet, and Clothes Mentor, just behind Jimmy John's & Chipotle. Just look for our pink sign!
Tin ceilings, chandeliers, and the smell of fresh cake & treats baking in our kitchen...you will be transported into the ultimate sugar fantasy. We're open Tuesdays-Saturdays, and we carry a large selection of cake balls & cupcakes each day (arrive early for the best selection). In addition to cake balls, we also carry a variety of other hand-decorated treats, baked treats for your dog, and more! All of our treats are baked fresh daily, in small batches to ensure the best quality and attention to detail!
Do you make cakes?
Yes! We offer a variety of cakes. Among them are our Cupcake Pull-Apart Cakes, Giant Cupcakes, 6", 8" and 10" Cutting Cakes, 6", 8" and 10" Dessert Cakes (over 100 flavors) and Chocolate Chip Cookie Cakes! We do not make any specialty/sculpted cakes or do any fondant decor at this time.
Do you offer gift cards?
Yes! We offer traditional paper gift certificates in our retail store. We now also offer efgift certificates which can be purchased in-store or online. Those may be emailed directly to yourself or the recipient. There are a variety of styles & denomonations to choose from. To redeem, simply bring in a printed copy of the certificate, or show us your phone with the certificate number at checkout. Both the gift certifcates and gift cards are valid in-store only. Both are valid at The Cute Little Cake Shop and at our vegan market, AVE MKT. Valid on purchases only . Not valid on shipping, tastings/consults, or previous purchases. No cash value. No cash back. Do you offer discounts for large orders?
Each of our treats is made individually, completely by hand, using only the finest ingredients (from scratch, of course!), which means they are also extemely labor intensive. Nothing is ever mass-produced in our kitchen. We put just as much effort and attention to detail into all of our orders, no matter what the size. For that reason, we do not offer discounts on our cake balls, cake pops, or sweet treats. Please contact us with your order inquiry, and we'll provide you with a detailed quote for your order. Pricing applied to any order is whatever the current website pricing is at the time of order placement.
Do you sell any products at wholesale?
Due to the labor and detail that goes into each one of our products (everything we make is made by hand, from scratch), we cannot offer our products at wholesale pricing.
ORDER CANCELLATION POLICY:
*For orders placed within 7 days or less of pick up/delivery date, all sales are final. Orders may be cancelled if you don't need them or plans change, but no refunds or store credit will be issued.
*For orders placed outside of 7 days prior to pick up/delivery date, we will retain a 50% deposit on the order, regardless of circumstance. Credit or refunds of any type will not be permitted on that portion of the order. Any refunds (after the 50% of the order total has been retained) due in excess of $100 may be split into multiple refund payments at our discretion, with final refund amount given by 30 days from time of order cancellation. In order to receive a partial refund or store credit (if applicable), orders must be cancelled prior to 7 days of the order pick up/delivery date. Any orders cancelled within 7 days or less of the pick up/delivery date will be considered 100% non-refundable.
ORDER & DEPOSIT POLICY:
*Any orders/holds that have a total amount of $50 or less require payment in full at time of order placement. Cancellation policies (see above).
*Any orders/holds that have a total amount that is over $50 may pay in full at time of order placement, or pay a 50% deposit, with final payment due at time of order pick up (or 2 weeks prior of weddings or delivery orders). We will retain a valid credit card on file if you have a balance due, and the card will be charged with that balance if we do not receive payment by the due date or at pick up. Even if orders are not picked up, the balance due on the order will still be charged. Cancellation policies (see above).
